We all want to take care of ourselves and improve

We all want to take care of ourselves and improve our health, but with so many of us under stress, it can be difficult.

Finding time to prep healthy meals, and finding the money to pay for clean, organic foods, are two reasons why most people don’t even bother.

And when your mental and emotional health is suffering it can feel impossible.

It’s a vicious cycle.

But when you take that first step to end the stress and work on healing your body, your mental health improves.

Your emotional health improves.

Your physical health improves.

And eventually things align, everything falls into place, and you become overwhelmed with gratitude instead overwhelmed with stress.

A few days ago I felt depressed. My 10 year old son even asked me why I looked like I was about to cry and that made me start crying. I was weepy and my mind kept going to the negative, second guessing all my life decisions. It was awful. I couldn’t turn it off. But then I realized something was off in my diet. I had been travelling and had not eaten how I normally do. I made a quick fix and within a few hours I was feeling better. Had I not known this about my body, I would sadly still be suffering.

One of the best ways to boost mood is to eat more

One of the best ways to boost mood is to eat more whole nutritious foods that promote energy and sustain you. An easy way to pack more nutrients into your diet is to partner veggies, healthy fat and proteins into one bowl.

For this one I sautéed celery, onions, and carrots, and added sautéed spinach, quinoa, red lentils, mushrooms, roasted sweet potatoes and yellow potatoes and topped it off with fresh parsley, and olive oil, lemon juice and cashews.

For added protein try wild salmon, hard boiled eggs, chickpeas or grilled chicken. For added fat try avocados. So many options! So delicious!

What’s awesome about this meal is you can prep these items in advance and have sustaining food available to create different meal combos throughout your week.

My 10 year old loves this meal.

I’ve devoted my professional life for the past 13 years to inspire you to practice daily gratitude, something I call Vitamin G, so that you can feel what I feel every morning when I wake up and every night when I go to bed.

So that you can feel strength and hope during difficult times and an elevated sense of joy, wonder, and love during the many beautiful times in your life.

Gratitude is my BFF.

It has helped me through so many struggles, health challenges, relationship challenges, infertility, fear, uncertainty, and grief.

I don’t know why anyone chooses not to practice gratitude. I honestly don’t.

The only thing I can come up with is that you are too stressed. But that is exactly the reason why you need your own gratitude practice. It is by far the best tool for increasing positivity and I believe it is the antidote to stress.
