I love going to tree lightings.

This has been my favorite holiday happiness tradition since my son was a year old.

I love how lighting the tree signifies the start of the holiday season. I love how people gather together in cold weather, to celebrate.

In Northport, we do it by the harbor.

I love being outside, enjoying the beauty of this town.

I love seeing children get excited when Santa arrives.

I love how the cold weather makes my cheeks rosie and my breath foggy.

I love how busy the town looks and feels. I love bumping into long lost friends.

And I love seeing the holiday lights brighten things up and how their reflections sparkle on the water during the longest nights of the year.

Most of all I love the happy feeling I have in my heart when I remember how blessed I am to have have a family I love, a body that’s healthy, and a life I truly cherish.

Happy Holidays is a term we get used to saying without really thinking much about. Next time you wish someone a happy holiday, wish it from your heart and allow the true spirit of this season fill your world with absolute joy knowing how truly blessed it is to be alive and to receive all the goodness this world offers. Happy, happy, happy holidays my friends!

I loaded it up with tons of garlic, onions, and greens for immune support.

Sweet potatoes with rosemary and oregano from the garden.

I have a jam-packed day with lots of driving to di

I have a jam-packed day with lots of driving to different places and needing to be there at specific times AND I’m playing tennis today so I’m fueling up on this power breakfast:

- leftover quinoa, Brussels sprouts and dandelion greens to give me fiber, vitamins and minerals. The bitter greens support my liver.

- two fried organic eggs for protein and omega 3’s

- avocado for more omega 3’s to keep my brain sharp and my mood stable

- fermented sauerkraut to nourish my gut microbiome

- tomatoes for antioxidants to strengthen my immune system

It may seem hard to eat this way but guess what?

Many things “feel” hard at first. Even riding a bike feels hard at first but then it becomes easy! And then you feel gratitude for it.

Knowing how to eat to support and nourish your life is amazing.

It’s empowering.

It’s freedom.
